THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE
Some people live for conflict.
Some people die with rage.
Some manipulate friends and lovers
Like actors on a stage.
But darkness fills each theater,
And the wind turns every page.
The path of least resistance,
The shortest way home,
A river running endlessly,
Curving through the stone.
The path of least resistance,
The shortest way home,
Water down the mountainside,
Power in the flow.
There is no virtue in struggle.
Fighting is insane.
Roll a boulder up a mountain,
It tumbles down again.
Try to change a human heart,
You only cause more pain.
The path of least resistance,
The shortest way home,
A willow bending in the wind,
Blowing with a storm.
The path of least resistance,
The shortest way home,
Lava down the mountainside,
Power in the flow.
As the rain falls toward the field,
As the river seeks the sea,
I will follow where the path
Of least resistance leads.
